Cincinnati Test Systems named as partner in fuel cell test development by the Department of Energy.

UltraCell Corp. has been awarded a three-year, $2.4 million cost-share grant from the Department of Energy to develop a quality control systems for high-volume fuel cell manufacturing.

Livermore-based UltraCell will work with partners Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Cincinnati Test Systems to design a system capable of inspecting 50 fuel cells per hour.

The project is expected to cost $4.7 million, with up to $2.4 million government share and $2.3 million matching cost share. UltraCell makes cell systems for mobile devices. The company has an exclusive license for fuel cell technology from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
