Automotive transmissions and engines are complex assemblies including several case components. Because of the high material and time value of these finished assemblies, pre-testing is critical.

Test Requirement:

There are several case components that contain fuel, oil, water and air in the final transmission or engine assemblies. These machined components must be leak tested before assembly.

CTS Solution:

Cincinnati Test Systems developed test stands that include the custom tooling to seal the critical surfaces of the castings. The Sentinel I24 with its standard tooling control capabilities controls the tooling operation and then perform pressure decay tests to verify the integrity of the machined castings.
